The Alliance’s research activities are organised around three key transdisciplinary themes, aimed at achieving net zero by addressing critical challenges and opportunities in renewable fuels:
Make It
Theme 1: Production of Renewable Fuels and Their Green Commodities at Scale
Focusing on efficient large-scale production of renewable fuels for export and domestic use.
Process It
Theme 2: Engineering Systems to Process the Renewable Fuels at Scale
Developing advanced engineering systems for efficient renewable fuel production and processing transport, handling, and storage.
Integrate It
Theme 3: Integration of Economic Competitiveness, Renewable Electricity, Safety, and Social License
Developing techno-economic and virtual modelling, renewable electricity and control systems, safety, and community engagement.
Themes 1-2 focus on fundamental scientific, engineering, and system challenges to transform the field and deliver new knowledge and technology.
Theme 3 integrates key requirements that must be met to enable all other themes, namely techno-economic and virtual modelling, safety of renewable fuels, integration of renewable electricity, and community engagement.
